Powell St. John Interview

Yesterday I filmed an extensive interview with the venerable singer/songwriter/artist, Powell St. John in his Berkeley home. The interview centered mostly on Powell’s rise from the Austin Texas music scene in the early 60’s to his relations with Janis Joplin and his role as a songwriter for the legendary 13th Floor Elevators. Powell also shared some reflections on his own personal influences such as Bob Dylan, his use with psychedelic drugs and his thoughts on the recent resurgence of Roky Ericson. The interview conducted by Matteo and Jeremy from the San Francisco band Rollercoaster is slated to publish in print version for the Italian rock rag Rumore. If possible I will post a clip from the interview here at a later date.
